Storm & Hail Debris Cleanup in North Texas — Same-Day 16-Yard Dumpsters

When hail or straight-line wind comes through Grayson, Fannin, Lamar or Hunt county, the debris shows up faster than the city routes can move it — shingles, fence panels, gutters, limbs and wet drywall all at once. We drop a 16-yard roll-off in the driveway, usually the same or next day, at a flat $375 for 3 days with 2 tons of disposal included. No storm surcharge, no emergency fee.

After a storm, in order

  1. 1Photograph the damage and debris before anything moves
  2. 2Call your insurer and ask if debris removal is covered
  3. 3Call us — same-day bin, itemized invoice for the claim
  4. 4Load over several days instead of racing dump hours

What a 16-yard holds after a hail claim

The bin is 22 ft × 8 ft × 4.5 ft — low-walled, so a crew can walk debris in without a ladder. Roughly 6 to 8 pickup loads of volume, with 2 tons of disposal included.

Hail-damaged roof tear-off (single layer)

20-25 squares of architectural shingle or 25-30 squares of 3-tab fits one 16-yard bin. Architectural runs 400-500 lbs per square, so 2 tons covers roughly 8-10 squares before overage — tell us the square count and we plan the tonnage up front.

Roof plus fence and gutters

Wind events usually take shingles, fence panels, gutters and soffit together. Mixed storm debris is fine in one bin — no need to separate building material from yard waste.

Downed limbs and trees

About 6-8 pickup loads of brush and limbs, which covers one or two medium trees cut into sections or a full quarter- to half-acre lot cleared after a storm.

Water-damaged interior tear-out

Wet drywall, insulation, carpet, pad and baseboard from two or three rooms. Wet material is heavy — a soaked load can pass 2 tons faster than a dry one, so mention water damage when you book.

Siding and window replacement debris

Vinyl and hardboard siding, trim, broken glass and packaging from a whole-house re-side, staged behind the crew instead of on the lawn.

Not sure your load fits under 2 tons? Run it through the dumpster weight calculator or read the roofing dumpster guide for shingle tonnage by square.

Insurance jobs: how to keep the paperwork clean

We're a dumpster company, not an insurance adjuster or a public adjuster — whether your policy pays for debris removal is between you and your carrier. Ask before you book, and we'll give you whatever documentation they want.

  • Document before you clear. Wide shots of the roof, fence and yard, plus close-ups of hail bruising or wind damage, with timestamps. Keep a few damaged shingles if the adjuster asks for a sample.
  • Ask about debris removal specifically. Many hail and wind claims include it, sometimes as part of the roof line item and sometimes separately. Get the answer in writing from your adjuster before the tear-off starts.
  • We invoice in claim-friendly form. Date of delivery and pickup, service address, rental length, flat rate, and disposal weight with the scale ticket on request — so nothing about the line item is a mystery to your carrier.
  • Time the bin to the crew, not the claim. If your roofer is a week out, a 1-day rental now for yard debris and a second drop on tear-off day is often cheaper than paying for a bin to sit. Call and we'll sequence it with you.
  • Roofers and restoration crews: after a widespread event, standing pulls beat calling job by job. Set a schedule through the Priority Club or a partner account.

Why storm debris doesn't wait for curbside pickup

Curbside bulk caps in these cities run from 2 cubic yards a week in Denison and Greenville up to 5 a month in Sherman, and Bonham's cart service has no routine bulk pickup at all. Every one of them excludes roofing shingles and construction debris — which is most of what a hail storm leaves behind. After a widespread event those routes back up for weeks while nails sit in your driveway. Details are in what the city won't take, and the self-haul math is in our dump fees vs. dumpster rental comparison.

Storm & hail cleanup questions

Can you deliver a dumpster the same day after a storm in North Texas?

Usually yes. Call or text 903-449-2818 before noon and we can normally drop a 16-yard roll-off the same day across Fannin, Lamar, Hunt, Grayson and Delta counties. After a widespread hail event demand spikes for a week or two, so the earlier you call, the better the slot. Because dispatch, the truck and the owner are the same small local team, we can move a route when a crew or an adjuster reschedules.

What size dumpster do I need for hail damage cleanup?

One 16-yard roll-off handles most single-family hail claims: a single-layer tear-off of 20-25 squares of architectural shingle, or 25-30 squares of 3-tab, plus the fence panels and gutters that came off in the same storm. Multi-layer tear-offs, steep-slope roofs or large homes may need a second pull scheduled mid-job.

Will my insurance claim cover the dumpster?

Debris removal is commonly part of a hail or wind claim, but coverage and limits are set by your policy and your adjuster — we can't promise what yours pays. What we can do is give you a clear itemized invoice with the date, address, rental length and disposal weight so it can be submitted with the claim. Ask your adjuster whether debris removal is included before you book, and keep photos of the debris in the bin.

Should I wait for the adjuster before I clean up?

Document first, then clear. Photograph the damage and the debris from several angles before anything moves, and keep a sample of the damaged shingles or siding if your adjuster asks for it. Once it's documented, staging debris in a container instead of at the curb usually makes the adjuster's visit easier and keeps nails out of tires. Never delay work that stops further water damage.

Can storm debris and roofing shingles go in the same dumpster?

Yes. Limbs, brush, fence pickets, shingles, gutters, insulation, drywall and lumber can all go in the same load. Keep out paint, solvents, fertilizer and pesticide containers, propane tanks, tires and appliances with refrigerant — those are excluded everywhere and go to a household hazardous waste site instead.

Won't the city pick up storm debris for free?

Sometimes, eventually, and only within tight limits. Curbside caps in these cities run from 2 cubic yards in Denison and Greenville up to 5 in Sherman, Bonham has no routine bulk pickup, and every one of them excludes roofing shingles and construction debris. After a widespread event those routes back up for weeks. See what the city won't take for the city-by-city limits.

What does a storm cleanup dumpster cost?

The same flat rates as any rental: $300 for 1 day, $375 for 3 days, $415 for 7 days, including delivery, pickup and 2 tons of disposal. Weight past 2 tons is billed at the landfill's posted per-ton rate with no markup, which matters on shingle and wet-drywall loads. There are no storm surcharges or emergency fees.
