Right-of-way rules are set by the city, so Sherman, Paris, Bonham, McKinney, and Frisco each answer differently. Ask for public works or permitting.

Collin County subdivisions are the strictest. A dated email showing active work almost always satisfies the covenant.

Placement rules are local, not statewide, and they change the moment the bin leaves your property line. Here's how it actually works in the four counties where we run most of our routes.
The rule that covers most jobs In **every** county we serve, a roll-off on your own driveway, pad, or lot needs no permit. A 16-yard bin wants about 22 feet of length, 8 feet of width, and 15 feet of overhead clearance so the truck can tilt it off the bed. We set boards under the rails on every drop. Fannin County (Bonham, Honey Grove, Trenton, Savoy, Ladonia) This is our home county, and it's the simplest. Rural addresses outside city limits have effectively no placement restrictions — pasture gates and gravel drives are routine. Inside Bonham city limits, driveway placement is unrestricted; street placement on the older blocks near the square is the only case worth a phone call to the city first. HOAs are rare here. Lamar County (Paris, Reno, Blossom, Deport, Roxton) Paris has the tightest historic-district geometry in our service area. Around the downtown square and the Eiffel Tower district, driveways are short and alleys narrow, so bins sometimes have to sit street-side — and that is City of Paris property, which can require approval and reflective marking. Newer builds along Loop 286 and out toward Reno and Powderly have room for a straight driveway drop. Grayson County (Sherman, Denison, Van Alstyne, Bells, Whitewright) Driveway placement needs nothing. Two Grayson-specific wrinkles:
- **Historic homes** in Denison's Katy District and older Sherman neighborhoods often have single-width drives and brick aprons. We board the rails; older concrete still deserves a photo sent ahead.
- **Lake Texoma properties** around Pottsboro and Gordonville have long gravel lanes and tree cover. Fine for our trucks with notice, tough after heavy rain.

Collin County (McKinney, Anna, Celina, Prosper, Frisco) This is where the HOA matters more than the city. Master-planned neighborhoods in Frisco, Prosper, and Celina commonly cap how long a roll-off can sit — 7 to 14 days is typical language — and some require it on the driveway rather than the street, full stop. Cities here also enforce right-of-way rules more actively than in our northern counties, so plan on a driveway drop. Two habits keep you clear:
1. Email the board or property manager your delivery and pickup dates before delivery. 2. Match the rental length to the work — a 3-day rental at $375 never trips an HOA clock the way a month-long bin can.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a dumpster permit in Fannin County, TX?
No — not for placement on your own driveway, pad, or land, whether you're in Bonham, Honey Grove, Trenton, or on a rural address. A permit only comes up if the bin has to occupy a city street or right-of-way.
Does the City of Paris require a permit for a dumpster?
Not on private property. Paris only gets involved when the roll-off sits in the street or public right-of-way, which happens most often on the tight blocks near the historic downtown square. Call City of Paris permitting before delivery in that case.
What are the dumpster rules in Sherman and Denison?
Driveway placement in Grayson County needs no permit. Street placement requires city approval, and older Denison and Sherman homes with brick aprons or single-width drives are worth a quick photo so the driver plans the approach.
Will my Collin County HOA allow a dumpster in Frisco or Prosper?
Almost always yes, for active work. Most Collin County HOAs cap the stay at roughly 7 to 14 days and prefer driveway placement over the street. Emailing your board the delivery and pickup dates ahead of time is what keeps a violation letter from showing up.
How much space does the truck need for delivery?
