Dumpster size calculator: what size do I need?
Estimate your debris in pickup-truck loads: one standard 8-foot pickup bed holds about 2 cubic yards. Multiply loads by 2 to get cubic yards, then match that to a bin. A 10-yard holds about 5 loads, a 15-yard about 6, a 16-yard about 6–8, a 20-yard about 10, and a 30-yard about 15. For nearly every North Texas home project — a garage or estate cleanout, a roof tear-off up to 16 squares, a kitchen or bath remodel, fence or deck demo — a 16-yard roll-off is the right call at $300 for 1 day, $375 for 3 days, or $415 for 7 days with 2 tons included.
- 1 pickup-truck load ≈ 2 cubic yards
- Bagged household junk: ~1 cu yd per 7 kitchen bags
- Furniture: ~1.2 cu yd per sofa or mattress
- Drywall: ~0.12 cu yd per 4x8 sheet · shingles: ~0.33 cu yd per square
- Round up — a second pull costs more than the extra room

Do the math on weight, not just volume
Cleanouts run out of space; roofs, tile, concrete, and dirt run out of weight first. Enter your actual materials in the interactive weight calculator to see tons vs. the 2 tons included, or use the shingle calculator and concrete calculator for heavy loads.
Why we run one 16-yard size
A 16-yard bin has the driveway footprint of a 10 or 15 yard (about 15 ft long, one car length) but the capacity of something closer to a 20. That means it fits tight driveways in older parts of Paris, Bonham, and Sherman while still finishing most projects in a single pull — no upsell, no guessing between four sizes.
